February 26, 2024 | Community News

Assiniboine Community College is encouraging community members, future students and families to join the college at an Open House for the Practical Nursing and Comprehensive Health Care Aide (CHCA) programs, February 28th at 6:30 p.m. at the Victoria Ave. East campus.

Guests are invited to chat with instructors, take a tour of the labs, talk with recruitment and financial aide team members, and explore the requirements and important information for the Practical Nursing and CHCA programs.

“The event is for anyone thinking about attending the Practical Nursing and Comprehensive Health Care Aide programs in Brandon, whether that be directly from high school, transferring from another institution or entering the post-secondary environment as a mature student,” said Suzanne Nicolas, Dean of the Practical Nursing program. “Nothing compares to getting people on campus and exploring the programs to get a real sense of what we can offer students.”

Health care related programs are the largest programs of study at Assiniboine. The demand for both Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides is high with 100 percent of Practical Nursing graduates surveyed from the 2021-22 academic year reporting that they have jobs following graduation earning an average salary of more than $57,000 per year.

College staff will be available to answer any questions you may have, take students through the admission requirements, financial aid opportunities, learning support services, and events and amenities on campus
